Aqua, Ethanol, Elderberry, Echinacea, Liquorice, Hyssop, Elderflower, Marshmallow, Milk Thistle, Chamomile, Meadowsweet, Dandelion.
Meadowsweet; is a perennial (returns each year) herb growing in damp meadows, ditches and bogs, at the edges of ponds, on river banks and in damp open woodland. Common throughout Europe.
Action; Meadowsweet is a soothing healing herb with astringent, aromatic and antacid properties, helping to relieve rheumatic muscle and joint pain.
Marshmallow Root; The plant is an upright perennial (returns each year) with a fleshy taproot, downy stems and velvety leaves, with pale pink flowers in summer.
Action; Internally to treat inflammation and ulceration of the digestive tract. It relieves irritation of the mucus membranes of the mouth, throat and gastrointestinal tract and helps with respiratory complaints including bronchitis and asthma.
Milk Thistle Seed; It is a plant with purple thistle-like flower heads in summer, followed by black seeds with tufts of white hairs.
Action; Is used internally for liver and gall bladder diseases, dyspeptic complaints, jaundice, hepatitis, liver damage, cirrhosis, and poisoning.
Dandelion Root; A perennial (returns each year) with a thick tap root.
Bright yellow flowers appear from spring to autumn. Dandelion is well known as a garden weed.
Action; A bitter-sweet cooling herb that has diuretic and laxative effects. It also stimulates liver function, improves digestion and reduces swelling and inflammation.
Chamomile; Evergreen perennial (returns each year), flowers with yellow disks and creamy white florets appear on long stalks in summer. Common to Western Europe, Northern America, and the Azores.
Action; It is further helpful in cases of digestive problems, colic, dyspepsia (stress induced), fever, painful menstruation and hyperactivity.
Echinacea; A tall perennial (returns each year) with lance-like leaves.
Purple-pink daisy-like flowers that smell like honey with orange-brown centres are produced in summer to early autumn.
Action; Echinacea stimulates the immune system to inhibit viruses and bacteria to enter and take over the cells. It is used internally for skin diseases, fungal infections, septicaemia, slow-healing wounds, chronic fatigue syndrome, venereal diseases and early stages of coughs and colds.
Elderflower; Elder is a large deciduous shrub with corky, grey-brown bark with feathery leaves. Tiny scented cream flowers are borne in summer followed by black berries.
Action; Elder flowers are traditionally used to treat influenza, colds, mucus, sinusitis, feverish illnesses and other upper respiratory tract problems, as well as hay fever.
Elderberry; They arrive from large clusters of small white or cream-colored flowers in late spring; these are followed by clusters of small blue, black, or red berries.
Action; Elderberry is known to be effective for treating Influenza, people using the Elderberry extract recover from illness much faster.
Hyssop; Is a semi evergreen shrub with long, thin, pointed spear-shaped leaves. The dark blue (in some rare cases pink or white) double-lipped flowers are borne in thick spikes during summer. The plant is found in Central and Southern Europe.
Action; The flowers can be used for coughs. The entire flowering plant is used for fevers, bronchitis, upper respiratory tract infections and colds.
Liquorice; A variable perennial (returns each year) with downy stems and pinnate leaves with pale blue to violet flowers.
Action; It is used in Chinese medicine to revitalize the heart, treat palpitations, boost the spleen, coughing, wheezing, detoxifying the body and the digestive system.
